Our Meteorology Services
Every year, numerous severe and catastrophic weather events impact the United States. These weather and climate events will often cause billions of dollars in damage. To better prepare for these major weather events. Risk Theory Loss Control services are broken into 3 categories: Before a weather event, during a weather event, and following a weather event.
Before a weather event, Risk Theory Loss Control provides climatological analysis and weather prediction to internally prepare for potentially above-average weather season or a particularly impactful weather event. This internal preparation allows us to brace for the type of season we might see or for an impending storm that will likely cause substantial damage.
During a weather event, Risk Theory Loss Control provides location-specific and personalized meteorology alerts and bulletins directly to our insureds. These alerts allow our insureds to prepare their businesses for a storm that will begin soon or is ongoing. This can help mitigate some of the impacts an insured may see at their location.
Following a weather event, Risk Theory Loss Control provides meteorology data and forensic meteorology services internally so we can respond to a weather event quickly and efficiently. The meteorology data allows us to map information to allocate resources knowing where impacts have occurred. Additionally, internal forensic meteorology services provide a clearer picture of a storm that may have produced a claim. This allows our claims team to match the damage we’ve inspected to the actual weather damage reported.
